Seeking: Part-time Bookkeeper

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks and a strong understanding of accounting principles. This role requires approximately 8-10 hours per week and will play a key part in maintaining the financial health of our organization.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and basic financial management.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Experience with payroll, financial reporting, and budgeting is preferred.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with Operation Manager,

• Executive Council, Artists, and vendors.

• Interest and passion for the arts.

Qualifications:

• Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience.

• Familiarity with financial statements and reporting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

McGuffey Art Center (MAC) is one of the oldest artist-run cooperative art centers in the country. Over 50 visual and performing artists rent studios in a downtown historic building leased from the City of Charlottesville.  Over 100 additional associate artists contribute to our shows, classes, outreach programs, tours, and festivals throughout the year.
